  17. <p>     Thelma and Louise, meet Darly and Marianne, the latest
  18. creations of a sudden cinematic genre, the woman's road picture.
  19. In Leaving Normal, a comedy coming this spring, Meg Tilly plays
  20. a refugee from two failed marriages who crosses paths with
  21. Christine Lahti as a wisecracking cocktail waitress. The pair
  22. decide to give life another chance by setting out for that other
  23. new obsession of American entertainment, the Pacific Northwest.
  24. Tilly is tickled to be in a film whose main characters are
  25. female: "In most movies, the men are the leads. The woman is a
  26. side salad."
